19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard courts

A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden trophy for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a challenging year, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the American major.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-time coach his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents his first trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt from that period of the previous year.

Success also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one different events.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters together, so to win a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his last six championship matches, including in the German tournament earlier this year.

Medvedev's counter-punching approach and regular reactions on the playing surface had prompted observers to wonder if his capacity to compete at the top level was concluded.

However the athlete has made changes in the past month, striving to advance forward and compete assertively, backed up by an improved serve.

He fought back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the last five points to take the lead.

The pair traded breaks in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden professional victory, took control to push for a final set.

The opponent saved 4 early-game chances in a tight third set before Medvedev won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he earned victory with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
